Anyone have a baby girl that had a high heart rate in early ultrasounds? 160-170? ?

first piece of advice.. wives tales r fun; i used to follow them even knowing they probably werent true. but dont live by them religiously, no matter how true they may seem. secondly, its still pretty early in the pregnancy, i wouldnt be too concerned about the babys heartbeat. one thing that could be making it do that though is stress. if you've been stressed lately or.. maybe working out too much. things like that. but on the other hand it could just be doing it on its own. either way, nothing to worry about :]. good luck!

My early ultrasounds and heart rate measurements were always high in the 170s so according to that wives tale I should be having a girl. I am 8 days away from my due date with a boy.

My little girl is baseline heart rate is 135-140. I am high risk too, but am 36 weeks now. Hers has always been about the same.

lower rate= boy
higher rate= girl

however it is not very accurate, about 50/50 i'd say.

Our first ultrasound was at 7 weeks, & the heartbeat was 146bpm.. Our doctor told us that as high as the heart beat was that it was probably a boy. He said that he is usually right. Our second ultrasound was at 12 weeks & was 170bpm.. Our doctor was not there this time to say anything. We tried that other wives tale, about the silver needle & thread last night. My sister-in-law who is about to pop in the next few days, knows for a fact that she is having a boy, & she tried it & it swung side- to- side. Mine swung in a circle. Which is opposite so, maybe I am having a girl?. So I am confused too. IDK. It is fun though, playing around trying to guess.

I do not believe the wives' tale about heartbeats, because I've heard both. My baby is heart rate was between 150 and 170, and he was definitely a boy. Other wives' tales said he should have been a girl, but no.

above 140-girl, below 140-boy is what i have always been told.
my daughter was always around 150...BUT both of my sisters boys were always around 150.
i would never believe an old wives tale!

i was told that usually indicates its a girl! who knows the only way to tell is if you see a ''ooo.ooo'' or a ''ahhh.ahh'' lol. good luck!!

I've heard the same thing as you.girl HR above 140, boy HR below 140. Doubt its accurate, but you have the old wives tale right, the nurse has it wrong.

Congrats I am 7 weeks and from what I have heard is that if it is 140+ it is a girl, below 140 it is a boy. From what I've seen on seems to work most of the time. Good luck

I am having a girl and at 36 weeks the heart rate was 160 and the dr asked me if I knew what I was having and when I told her it was a girl she told me how good she was at guessing by the heart rate so who knows. It could be hard to tell since you have a high risk pregnancy anyhow but good luck anyway.

my daughter is always in the 150-160 is but my son was the same.i dont think there is any truth to those old wives tales.they are fun tho =) congrats!
