typically u only have 2 ultrasounds. the vaginal one that u already had & another one when u r abot 5 months & that one is where the doc gets measurements of everything including heart liver lungs kidneys bladder all the babys organs; here they also determine the babys sex. the doc was unable to tell the sex & at my nex appt. i asked for another ultra sound & he was nice & allowed me to. when i got that ultrasound they discovered i had low amniotic fluid & after thatr i had about 4 more ultra sounds once a week to monitor my fluid level after that everything was fine & i needed no more ultrasounds. i totally got 7 ultrasounds. u should only get 2 maybe 3 u only need more if something is wrong & they need to monitor it

I think I had 3, but also had 2 of the little handheld ones in the hospital just to determine where the baby is head was.

At 6 weeks, they can not determine the sex. That would be around weeks 16 to 21 that they do that.

They normally wo not do vaginal ultrasounds except at the very first one, because they do not want to stick ur cervix, or cause any bleeding (you r much more vascular down there during pregnancy).

My friend had 5 ultrasounds before she was 20 weeks pregnant. It just depends on ur situation. Some women only have one or 2 during their entire pregnancies.

I got the vaginal scan at 12 weeks. Then i went in again at 18 weeks hoping to find out the sex of my baby but they would not do one. They said said it was optional and that if i wanted an ultrasound I had to make a seperate appointment with the hospital. I was under the impression they usually did another scan between 18-20 weeks. So to answer your question if everything seems normal with your pregnany you get 2 ultrasounds.

my doctor has his own ultrsound machine in his office so i get one with every appointment. but with my first pregnany, i got one with my first appointment (6 weeks), then one at 20 weeks (when they determined the sex of the babies), and then one i think 6-8 weeks later.

no thats too early.wait til around 16- 18 weeks + to get a more accurate answer. I've had 4 ultrasounds and i'm 6 months. but it all depends on the information you get from each one. if you dont get what you need you will have to get more. But its not wise to get them when you dont need them.

It depends on your doctor is office policy, your insurance coverage, etc. You should get an ultrasound at around 20wks. It is called a level II ultrasound. It is more detailed. The ultrasounds are done externally by that time. Vaginal ultrasounds are done in early pregnancy, usually until there is a belly evident. Best of luck.

I dont no if this is normal but it might be because i am 14 but i had one every 2 weeks and when i got to the last two months they did them every week.

Some insurances only allow one and that is the 20 week ultrasound while others allow 2 ultrasounds one in the beggining as you had and one at 20 weeks. high risks pregnancies get alot more. You will get another one around 20 weeks along and it wont be trans-vaginal. good luck and congrats.

usually they do one to determin how far along you are, and then another one 18-22 weeks.
unless there is something wrong, they usually dont do another one

when you get about 16 to 20 weeks they will do one more they will tell you then what your haveing.

Most women get 2 now. One to ''date'' and one around 20 weeks to check anatomical structures-this is the one where you are commonly able to find out teh sex. But my second pregnancy I had a 7 or 8 at least due to different problems. Anything after a few weeks is done abdominally.
